Naseeruddin Shah has managed to be himself in an industry often known for its hypocrisy and false sense of substance and achievement. He has persistently reached out to filmmakers with different sensibilities to take up a variety of roles, enriching his body of work. Be it the scheming singer in Sarfarosh, the mentor in Sir, the innocent photographer in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron or the sensitive father in Masoom, he has always managed to leave a mark with his performances.
